We are one of very few eye clinics in South Africa that offer ophthalmology services over a wide range, providing all services in-house. Our services include cataract, retina, glaucoma, oncology, oculopathies, refractive surgery and pterygiums as well as general eye diseases.
Cataract and refractive surgery
- Phaco emulcification and lens implantation
- Lenses include aspheric lenses, astigmatic lenses and multifocal lenses
- Small incision cataract surgery (SICS) and non-foldable lens implantation for low cost cataract surgery and for extremely hard cataracts (Grade 6)
- Clear lens extraction surgery with lens implantation surgery (CLE) for angle closure glaucoma
- Secondary lens implants in traumatic or referred complicated cataract procedures
- Scleral fixation lens implantations
- Artisan and Artiflex lens implantations for high myopia or hyperopia and astigmatism
- Intra ocular contact lenses (ICL) implantations for high myopia or hyperopia
Cornea surgery
- Pterygium surgery with conjunctival flap and Tisseel glueing
- Astigmatic keratotomies and suturing post cornea grafting
- Penetrating cornea transplants (PKP) for full thickness opacities
Eyelid surgery
- Ectropion, entropion, ptosis and eye lid retraction surgery
- Tumour excision and eyelid reconstruction surgery including Hughes, Tenzel and Cutler -Beard flaps and Mustarde cheek rotation flap
- Removal of Benign eyelid lesions
- Removal of Malignant eyelid lesions with reconstruction.
Glaucoma surgery
- Ahmed valve drainage device implantation
- Minimal invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS)
- I-stent Inject
- XEN tube
In office injections
- Lucentis or Avastin for wet macula degeneration (wet AMD)
- Ozurdex or triamcinolone injections for macula edema
- Gancyclovir for Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis
- Bleomycin intradermal injections for small or recurrent skin cancers
- Botox injections for idiopathic facial spasm or cosmetic
Iris and ciliary body
- Iridectomy for angle closure glaucoma
Lacrimal surgery
- Laser DCR (dacryo cysto rhinostomy)
- Implantation of Mini Monoka, Masterka and Nunchaku tubes
Laser procedures in the office
- YAG laser capsulotomy, iridotomy and strand lysis
- YAG laser vitreolysis for floaters
- Green laser for retina tears and holes
- Green laser for diabetic and other neovascular conditions
Laser refractive procedures for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism
- Lasik with keratome flap or Femto laser flap
- Photo refractive keratectomy (PRK)
- Photo therapeutic keratectomy (PTK) for recurrent cornea erosion syndrome
